April 4,  2023 – Run-off election

vote by mail

No excuse is needed. All Chicago voters may choose to Vote By Mail.

March 2,  2023 – First day to apply to Vote By Mail for the February 28, 2023 Municipal Election.

March 17, 2023 – Earliest expected day for Vote By Mail ballots to be mailed to voters.

March 30, 2023 – Last day for the Board to receive new Vote By Mail applications.

April 4, 2023 – Last day for postmark on the Ballot Return Envelope if returning by mail. If a voter decides not to return the Vote By Mail ballot, the voter may submit the Vote By Mail ballot to the judges at the precinct and polling place for that voter’s home address, and then cast a ballot in person. If the Vote By Mail ballot was lost or did not arrive, the voter may sign a “cancellation of Vote By Mail ballot affidavit” and cast a provisional ballot, also at the precinct and polling place for that voter’s home address.

April 18, 2023 – Last day that a mailed Vote By Mail ballot (postmarked or certified April 4 or earlier) may arrive at the Election Board to be included in the count.

Early Voting in all 50 Wards of Chicago will begin Monday, March 20 and run through April 4, 2023 (Election Day). All 50 Ward Early Voting sites and the Board Supersite (191 N. Clark) will be open as vote centers on Election Day.

Weekdays: 9:00am- 6:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Election Day: 6:00am – 7:00pm (April 4)

You can visit any early voting site in the City.

 Government-issued photo ID is not required but ID is helpful if there is a question about the voter’s registration, address, signature, or if there are two voters at the same address with the same names or similar names.

On Election Day, a voter may cast a ballot at the polling place assigned to that voter’s registration precinct. Hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
